  When I purchased my 2024 Harley-Davidson LiveWire S2 Del Mar in July 2024, I was excited to be part of the next wave of two-wheeled innovation. Fast forward to December 2025, and I’m trying to sell it — with very little luck. After more than a year of ownership, plus watching how the larger electric motorcycle market has performed across brands like LiveWire, Energica, and Zero, I’ve come to a clear conclusion: electric motorcycles still aren’t a smart or practical purchase for most riders in 2025–2026. Real-World Range Still Lags Behind Rider Expectations Every electric motorcycle brand claims respectable range numbers on paper. But once you actually ride them in mixed real-world conditions, the story changes — drastically. My LiveWire S2 Del Mar regularly fell short of its advertised range.
